carrot soup and book

Carrot Soup with Sadaf Hussain

In a delightful convergence of literary and culinary arts, we had the pleasure of attending “Carrot Soup with Sadaf Hussain”. Sadaf Hussain is a chef, author, and podcaster. He was one of the top contenders of MasterChef India in 2016. ‘Carrot Soup’ is his first children’s book. The event included a book reading by the author and a demonstration of how to make carrot soup.

The author was charismatic and engaging. The author’s ability to cater to both children and adults was a highlight, as he read with animated voices and shared anecdotes that resonated with different age groups. Children engaged in the story and listened intently to him. Additionally, I loved that his socks catered to children too.

This event was not just about words on pages. With simple ingredients ready, he invited the audience, both young and old, to join him in bringing the story’s culinary creation to life. As the author guided the audience through the cooking process, the soup began to take shape, and soon, the room was filled with the aroma of the delicious creation. The children’s enthusiasm was palpable as they participated in the interactive cooking class, commenting ‘yummy’. The soup that was made tasted delicious! The easy-to-follow recipe is included in the book’s last few pages for anyone interested.

The setting at Champaca Book Store in Bengaluru provided a cozy ambiance surrounded by shelves filled with a plethora of books.

The event concluded on a high note as attendees had the opportunity to get their copies of the book signed by the charismatic author.

The successful fusion of literature and culinary arts, set against the backdrop of Champaca Book Store, made this event an unforgettable experience for all who attended.
